I have to get this out of the way early, and judging by what I’ve read recently, it might not go over well with some folks. In case you haven’t caught on yet, let me be clear: the stories here are about someone with Asperger syndrome.
Up-to and After the Diagnosis
So, what did I do when I found out I had Asperger syndrome?
First we have to establish what happened before that. In that nebulous area where someone like me looks around the world and wonders, “What is wrong with all these people?!”
The Other Day I was Talking to a Doctor…
The other day I was talking to a doctor who casually mentioned “the autism” in reference to me. I volunteered the correction, “I’m not autistic; I have Asperger syndrome.”
